Guangdong will face its first strong cold spell of the season beginning Monday (November 17), as a powerful mass of cold air pushes southward, leading to a marked drop in temperatures, increased cloud cover, and occasional light rain across the province.
According to meteorological authorities, the front will reach northern Guangdong on Monday (November 17) morning before moving into Guangzhou around sunset and continuing toward the southern coast overnight. The change will be most noticeable from Tuesday (November 18) to Wednesday (November 19), when temperatures across the province are expected to fall by 6-10°C.
By early Wednesday (November 19) or Thursday (November 20), most areas will record their lowest temperatures of this cold spell. Northern Guangdong and the northern Pearl River Delta are forecast to dip to 6-9°C, with high-altitude northern counties falling close to freezing at 1-3°C. Southern coastal areas will remain milder at 13-15°C, while other regions will settle between 9-12°C.
Light rain or drizzle is expected in parts of the province between Monday (November 17) and Wednesday (November 19), coinciding with an increase in wind speeds.

November 18: Overcast with scattered light rain; temperatures drop sharply.
Lows: 8–12°C in the north; 12–14°C in central areas; 15–18°C along the southern coast.
November 19–20: Cloudy to overcast with occasional drizzle; temperatures remain low.
Lows: 6–9°C in the north; 10–12°C elsewhere inland; 13–15°C along the coast.
Guangzhou Forecast
Warm and sunny on Monday (November 17) with highs near 28°C before the cold front arrives in the evening. From Tuesday (November 18), temperatures will fall to around 15°C with intermittent light rain. The midweek low is expected to reach about 10°C. Winds will strengthen from Monday (November 17) night through Wednesday (November 19).
