In Lingnan, a viewing deck is more than just a scenic spot. Instead, it is a vivid microcosm of daily life, a window where nature and culture engage in constant dialogue. Here, the romance of untamed landscapes unfolds freely, the brilliance of modern urban life dazzles, and the timeless charm of ancient relics lingers in the air, weaving together the unique allure of Lingnan.
The journey to discover Guangdong's most breathtaking viewing deck may lead you through the endless golden rice fields of Yankou Village in Zhongshan, or to the "Sky Mirror" viewing platform in Shenzhen, where fashion and romance converge in midair. Perhaps you will find it hidden among the watchtowers of Jiangmen's overseas Chinese towns, echoing with the graceful charm of Nanyang architecture...
We invite you to capture these hidden gems through the stroke of your pen, the frame of your lens, or the spark of your creative vision, and unique creations that are yours. Together, let's share with the rest of the world the breathtaking beauty of Guangdong's viewing decks—a celebration of the natural landscapes, urban charm, and rich joys of everyday life in Lingnan.
Event Theme
Lingnan Vista Quest: Discovering Guangdong's Most Breathtaking Viewing Decks
Submission Theme
Theme 1: Natural Viewing Decks | Mountain and Wilderness Scenery
We invite you to capture the natural landscapes of Guangdong, including vivid ecological scenes of fields, forests, valleys, and beyond. For example, in Yankou Village, Zhongshan, golden rice waves rise and fall with the breeze, and egrets skim gracefully overhead; in Liannan, terraced fields ripple down the hillsides, tracing the ever-changing rhythm of the seasons.
Through your works, we hope to uncover the hidden green beauty of the wilderness and showcase the diversity and vitality of nature.
Theme 2: Urban Viewing Decks | Open Public Spaces
We welcome submissions featuring those spotlight open urban spaces, squares, rooftops, parks, libraries, where people interact with the urban environment. At "Sky Mirror" of Shenzhen, the glass platform reflects the interplay of sky, clouds, and city lights; along the Lovers’ Road in Zhuhai, people rest, exercise, and admire the seaside scenery...
These spaces serve as connections between the city and its people, momentary pauses in fast-paced life, and unexpected encounters within daily routines. What we seek are those vibrant, modern "urban viewing decks" that embody the spirit of contemporary Guangdong.
Theme 3: Timeless Viewing Decks | Lingnan Heritage
We invite you to capture living spaces steeped in history and rich with Lingnan cultural essence: arcades, watchtowers, traditional Hakka houses, ancient streets, and ancestral halls that embody historic charm. Examples include the overseas Kaiping Watchtowers, the Nantou Ancient Town in Shenzhen, where millennia of history intertwine with modern art, and the Meizhou Hakka walled villages that showcase traditional residential architecture...
These spaces serve as vessels of collective memory and cultural imprints. We call for works that document the "rebirth" and "blank space" of Lingnan's cultural landscapes, enabling dialogue between history and contemporary life.
