A new international convention centre and hotel is planned to open in Chaozhou this November, marking the historic Guangdong city's latest push to become a key destination for global business and cultural exchange. The Chaozhou International Convention and Exhibition Centre combines local artistic traditions with contemporary design, aiming to serve as a central hub for eastern Guangdong's economic and cultural activities.

The complex's hotel has already started trial operations. Its spacious lobby features subtle nods to Chaozhou's cultural legacy, including woodcarvings and woven lanterns inspired by traditional crafts, which have drawn praise from early visitors.
Developed by Chaozhou City Construction Investment Group and operated by China's top 500 enterprises Zhuhai Huafa Group, the venue offers 30,000 square metres of exhibition space, 17 adaptable meeting rooms, and a 173-room upscale hotel, along with a banquet kitchen capable of serving 1,500 people.
Notably, the center is scheduled to host the 23rd International Teochew Convention in 2025, an event expected to draw overseas Teochew communities back to their ancestral home. A project representative described the complex as "a bridge for Teochew people worldwide."

Its inaugural major event, the Chaozhou Home Expo, will take place in mid-November, featuring 80 brands across 9,000 square metres of display space.
The final touches are being applied to outdoor landscaping and parking facilities.
