Serbian youth amazed by China’s culture, technology, and hospitality

An exchange group of 53 Serbian students and young people visited Guangzhou this week as part of a 12-day program across Chinese cities, including Shanghai and Shenzhen, aimed at promoting cross-cultural interaction among youth.

The group visited museums, advanced manufacturing factories, and tech firms in different cities, learning about the country's rich history and rapid modernization.

"I'm stunned by the culture… and how Chinese people cherish their roots and traditions," said Natalija Kocić, a member of the Serbian group.

"We've seen an extremely rich cultural history as well as marvelous new technological developments," said Serbian university student Dušan Bovan.

The visit also reinforced the strong bilateral ties between China and Serbia, which will mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.

"We have a strong friendship between our governments and our people," said Natalija. "We see China as a neighboring country, even though it's on the other side of the world."

"You are so good, you are so good," said Nikola Bajić and Marko Bajić, brothers in the group, adding that the hospitality exceeded expectations: "I thought Serbian people were hospitable, but you guys are amazing."
