This year marks the 120th anniversary of Chinese cinema. The Animation Film Week has become a vital platform for promoting collaborative development in the animation film industry since its launch in 2023. Over the past two years, the event has rapidly expanded, fostering dialogue, incubation, investment, and IP cooperation—driving high-quality development in Chinese animation.

Guangdong boasts a strong foundation in the animation industry, with an annual output value exceeding 60 billion yuan, accounting for about one-third of the national market. The province is home to over 206,000 animation enterprises, producing a third of the nation's animated films and generating more than half of the country's animation derivatives. In 2024, Guangdong released eight animated films, representing 28.6% of the national total, generating 2.228 billion yuan in box office revenue, or 80% of the domestic animation film market.
