Colourful skies as Yangjiang hosts record-breaking international kite festival

The 2025 Yangjiang International Kite Invitational Tournament kicked off on Hailing Island on October 29, drawing a record 426 participants from 125 teams, including 53 from overseas.

As colorful kites shaped like lingzhi mushrooms, octopuses, and koi fish filled the skies, the event transformed the beach into a vibrant stage of culture and friendship.

Lasting three days, the festival features 12 competition events, traditional folk performances, and local food fairs — blending sport, culture, and tourism to showcase Yangjiang's rich heritage as China's "hometown of kites."
