The 2025 "Young City Yeah Market" Guangzhou Nighttime Consumption Season has officially kicked off, bringing a wave of exciting activities that will run through the second half of 2025 to the city's bustling nightlife scene, according to a release by the Guangzhou Commerce Bureau on August 14th.
Designed to reinforce Guangzhou's position as an international consumption hub, this citywide initiative blends shopping, dining, entertainment, sports, and cultural experiences into a seamless nighttime spectacle.
The season will feature a diverse lineup of events, including the much-anticipated Guangzhou International Food Festival and Gourmet Week starting in October, where visitors can savor craft beers, barbecue, and live music performances.
Adding to the allure, the Guangzhou International Light Festival, usually scheduled for November, will transform the banks of the Pearl River into a dazzling 360° immersive light art exhibition. Meanwhile, Guangzhou will host an International Urban Cruise Carnival that combines scenic river tours with lively night markets and sports-themed entertainment.
Fans of anime and gaming will also find plenty to enjoy, with events featuring Labubu and Kuro Games pop-up installations and themed car parades in the city’s bustling nightlife districts along Beijing Road, Haizhu Square, Tianhe Road, Canton Tower, and the Party Beer Culture Creative Art District.
The festivities will coincide with two major international events: the 138th Canton Fair (Autumn Session), running from October 15 to November 4, and the 15th National Games of China, taking place from November 9 to 21.
During the Canton Fair, Guangzhou will host complementary activities such as the Music & Food Carnival and the Guangzhou International Shopping Festival, ensuring that business travelers and tourists alike can enjoy a rich after-hours experience. During the 15th National Games, Guangzhou will further energize the city’s nighttime economy with sports-themed pop-up events and interactive fan zones.
To encourage participation, the city is rolling out a series of consumer incentives, including over 20,000 special consumption vouchers distributed daily at 6 PM until August 31, offering discounts of up to 50 RMB per transaction through UnionPay. Additional promotions from platforms like Meituan, Taobao, and Didi will include flash sales, ride-hailing discounts, and lucky draws.
By integrating culture, sports, and commerce into its nighttime offerings, Guangzhou’s 2025 Nighttime Consumption Season promises to deliver an unforgettable urban nightlife experience for both locals and international visitors.
