The city of Yangjiang in Guangdong province has begun a five-month consumption promotion campaign, leveraging its role as a host for the 15th National Games to attract tourists. The initiative runs from November 2025 through March 2026 and includes discounts on travel, dining, and retail, along with cultural and sports events.

The campaign is structured around four themed activities. "Follow the Games to Yangjiang" promotes sports-related tourism around the National Games events held on Hailing Island, while "A Winter Escape to Yangjiang" highlights the city's mild climate and selenium-rich resources to attract older tourists. A "Winter Study Tour" focuses on family travel during the school holidays, and "Celebrate the New Year in Yangjiang" features cultural activities for the Spring Festival.
Significant discounts form the core of the campaign. Seventeen scenic spots are offering free admission, with six additional sites, including Dajiao Bay and the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Museum, providing free entry to athletes, coaches, and officials associated with the Games. Dining vouchers offering discounts of up to 20% are available, while subsidies of 4,000–5,000 yuan are being offered for new car purchases. Hotels across the city are also providing discounted rates and late check-out options.
To streamline visitors' experience, Yangjiang has improved payment systems for international tourists by expanding support for foreign card POS terminals and ATM. A "Yangjiang Travel Map" provides guidance on attractions, food, and shopping. Local market regulators have reinforced mechanisms for handling complaints and ensuring product quality, with a 24/7 hotline in operation.
The campaign is part of a broader provincial effort to boost consumption during the winter season.
