A replica of Hong Kong's Clock Tower, neon-lit streets, and iconic brands now bring authentic Hong Kong flair to Qianhai with the launch of "Hong Kong Vibes in Qianhai • Light Up the Bay Area"—China's first international Hong Kong-style block.
Launched on September 28, the block is a pioneering project aligning Shenzhen and Hong Kong's lifestyle services and systems. It aims to deepen cultural exchange and business integration while creating new growth opportunities for Hong Kong's catering, retail, cultural, health, and other lifestyle sectors.
Spanning 30,000 square meters in Qianhai's prime Guiwan area, the project brings together nine leading Hong Kong brands and has already attracted a total of 56, including century-old names like Hang Heung Cake Shop and Po Lan Sang, as well as renowned caterers such as Ah Yat Abalone and Carrianna.
According to the Qianhai Authority, the block adopts Hong Kong-style operations, with Hong Kong residents actively involved in its founding, ownership, and management. In partnership with the China Inspection Group, it has also established the "Qianhai Hong Kong Quality Certification Center" to raise food standards and promote mutual recognition between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Desmond Wong, CEO of Hang Heung Cake Shop, said the decision to invest in Qianhai was driven by strong policy support, a 20-minute commute from Hong Kong, and the opportunity to expand into the mainland market with their first physical store.
Carrianna, a Chaozhou cuisine and mooncake brand established in Shenzhen in 1988, has joined the block, while Fung B Kee, a renowned Cantonese seafood restaurant, is opening its first mainland branch there.
Looking ahead, Qianhai plans to develop the block into a model project that blends heritage brands with new consumption trends, creates more Hong Kong-style living experiences, and supports Hong Kong brands in entering the mainland market—while highlighting its "Hong Kong charm, international appeal, coastal elegance, modern vitality, and futuristic vision."
