On September 9, the inauguration ceremony of the Nanhai Business Globalization Support Base, the Nanhai Premium Products Exhibition and Trade Center, and the establishment of Foshan Nanshang Global Business Services Co., Ltd. were held in Nanhai, Foshan. This marks a new phase for Nanhai businesses going global.
Gu Yaohui, Secretary of the Nanhai District Committee, stated that in 2024, the District's delegation will conduct economic and trade exchanges in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and other regions, recognizing the vast opportunities and development potential in emerging markets. Nanhai has implemented targeted measures to introduce a series of practical initiatives supporting enterprises in expanding globally.
The head of the Nanhai District Federation of Industry and Commerce provided a detailed introduction to the distinctive sections of the Nanhai Premium Products Exhibition and Trade Center, including the premium products exhibition area, outdoor furniture exhibition area, immersive home experience zone, and global business services section. To date, 68 Nanhai enterprises have officially settled in the center, covering diverse fields such as home furnishings, health and wellness, and new energy. This center represents a concentrated embodiment of Nanhai's manufacturing strength and cultural heritage.
On the same day, over 50 global business service providers across five categories signed agreements. These included park supporting enterprises, foreign-related legal and intellectual property service agencies, financial and insurance institutions, certification bodies, professional service providers, and cross-border service agencies, all offering comprehensive support for enterprises.
Nanhai District has been committed to building platforms and providing services for enterprises going global. In August this year, Nanhai's total foreign trade import and export value reached 13.36 billion yuan, an increase of 8.8%. Exports amounted to 8.44 billion yuan, up 10.2%, while imports reached 4.92 billion yuan, growing by 6.5%. These figures reflect a stabilizing and improving foreign trade trend, highlighting Nanhai's solid foundation and strong resilience in foreign trade.
