On August 26, the China Nansha Cell and Gene Industry Innovation and Development Conference was held at the Guangzhou Nansha International Convention and Exhibition Center. The event focused on cutting-edge technologies and advancements in the cell and gene sector, bringing together leading global scholars, industry pioneers, and policymakers to discuss technological breakthroughs and transformation trends. Multiple key platforms were launched, and agreements for industrial projects were signed to accelerate collaborative innovation in the Greater Bay Area's cell and gene industry.
At the conference, Nansha announced its strategy to seize development opportunities by leveraging five core dimensions:
1. Policy Warmth: Preferential policies and regulatory support;
2. R&D Precision: Advanced research infrastructure;
3. Clinical Speed: Accelerated technology-to-clinic pathways;
4. Ecological Breadth: Integrated industrial ecosystem;
5. Talent Excellence: High-caliber professionals.
This "five-dimensional" approach aims to establish Nansha as the Greater Bay Area's innovation hub for cell and gene technologies. The district extended an open invitation for enterprises and talent to pursue their dreams in Nansha, driving more industrial resources and high-quality projects to establish operations locally.
In 2023, the Opinions on Supporting Market Access Liberalization and Regulatory Reform in Guangzhou Nansha was issued, allowing cell and gene therapy enterprises to conduct clinical applications of restricted cell transplantation technologies through registered medical institutions. This policy empowers Nansha to pioneer pilot reforms, facilitating the transformation of lab research into clinical practice and building an end-to-end industrial chain.
