The 15th China International Animation Copyright Fair (CIAF) will be held from August 8 to 11 at the ACTIF Center in Shipai Town, Dongguan City, organizers announced at a press conference on July 23.
Themed "Setting Off with Trendy Dreams," the event will cover 26,400 square meters—up 27% from the previous edition. With over 600 companies from more than 40 countries and regions and more than 2,000 well-known animation IPs on display, it will be the largest edition in the fair's history.
This year's fair will debut an innovative dual-integration model, combining "Animation IPs with Art Toys" and "Art Toys with Animation IPs." Attendees can explore five major exhibition zones: a global film and animation creators' hall, an IP licensing exchange, an art toy industry workshop, a brand commerce procurement center, and an AI-powered interactive experience area. Visitors can engage in hands-on activities such as 3D printing and IP development, along with vibrant cultural parades, e-sports competitions, and product launches.
A key highlight of this year's fair is its new venue in Shipai Town, Dongguan—a hub of China's art toy industry. In 2024, Dongguan's toy sector generated 23.8 billion yuan in revenue, a 19% increase year-on-year. Shipai Town alone is home to 146 toy enterprises, providing a strong industrial foundation for the event.
This year's fair will adopt a "Professional Exhibition + Industrial Town" model, transforming the ACTIF Center into a 130,000-square-meter integrated industrial park that combines exhibition and production functions. In addition, a year-round online trading platform will be launched to support Dongguan's transition from a traditional toy manufacturing hub to a dynamic source of original IP.
During the fair, Dongguan will launch four dedicated bus routes to connect visitors with key cultural and tourism sites across the city. A summer carnival event will also be held, enhancing the exhibition experience and offering additional attractions for tourists.
