World Guangdong Entrepreneurs Convention witnesses signing of projects worth over ¥44 billion

On September 29, the 2025 World Guangdong Entrepreneurs Convention kicked off in Guangzhou, attracting industrial and commercial associations from 60 countries and regions around the globe, as well as nearly a thousand representatives of Guangdong businesses.

Connecting the world with innovation

Chen Zhilie, Chairman of Guangdong Federation of Industry & Commerce and chairman of EVOC Hi-tech Holding Group, stated that the current scale of Guangdong's private economy is enormous. It is precisely by relying on the spirit of hard work, inclusiveness, and open-mindedness, along with the courage to explore globally, that Guangdong entrepreneurs have been able to achieve continuous development.

"The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) serves as a national innovation hub, with its R&D expenditure intensity ranking first in the country. Guangdong businesses should firmly seize this opportunity and work together to build an innovation community that deeply integrates industry, academia, research, and application," said Li Dongsheng, Founder and Chairman of TCL, during his speech as a representative of Guangdong entrepreneurs.

"We look forward to conducting collaborative research with more enterprises and research institutes in areas such as AI large models, semiconductor displays, and new materials to enhance the innovation competitiveness of the GBA."

Choi Koon-shum, President of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, stated in his speech that in the first half of this year, the total import and export volume between Guangdong and Hong Kong reached 566.85 billion RMB, an increase of 7.9%.

Choi believes that given the current global situation, "Guangdong and Hong Kong businesses can leverage their respective strengths in applied technological capabilities and international data hub advantages to achieve integrated development in areas such as the Industrial Internet, digital trade, and fintech."

Investment projects worth over RMB 44 billion signed

A total of 24 projects were signed during the event, with a total investment value of RMB 44.458 billion, covering fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and network and communication.

Three lists were also announced on-site: the "2025 Top 100 Private Enterprises in Guangdong Province," the "2025 Top 100 Manufacturing Private Enterprises in Guangdong Province," and the "2025 Top 50 Service Private Enterprises in Guangdong Province."

A total of 24 projects worth over RMB 44 billion are signed during the 2025 World Guangdong Entrepreneurs Convention.

According to statistics, the entry threshold for the 2025 Top 100 Private Enterprises in Guangdong Province list was RMB 12.332 billion. Among them, there were 4 enterprises with revenues exceeding RMB 400 billion in 2024, 12 enterprises with revenues over RMB 100 billion, and 66 enterprises with revenues over RMB 20 billion.

In terms of regional distribution, Shenzhen had 40 enterprises, Guangzhou had 22, Foshan had 16, Dongguan had 6, Huizhou had 4, and Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Maoming, and Zhaoqing each had 2, while Jiangmen, Yangjiang, Zhanjiang, and Yunfu each had 1.

During the conference, a cooperation initiative for global Guangdong entrepreneurs was officially released. The initiative contains four proposals, calling on global Guangdong entrepreneurs to continue to deepen open cooperation, focus on innovative development, share development opportunities in the GBA, and participate in rural revitalization.
