Guangdong aims for an annual GDP growth of around 5% during the 15th Five-Year Plan period
During the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), Guangdong Province has set an average annual GDP growth target of around 5%. For the inaugural year of 2026, the growth target is set between 4.5% and 5%.
The province's priorities for 2026 include advancing the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, fostering new quality productive forces through technological innovation, and prioritizing the real economy and manufacturing. In terms of foreign trade, Guangdong will pursue high-level opening-up by consolidating traditional markets in Europe, the U.S., Japan, and South Korea, while actively exploring emerging markets such as ASEAN, the Middle East, and Africa.

Guangzhou-Qingyuan Intercity Railway Southern Extension Line opens
The Guangzhou-Qingyuan Intercity Railway Southern Extension Line officially opened, with its inaugural train departing from Guangzhou Baiyun Station on January 28. The Southern Extension Line stretches 22 kilometers and serves four stations: Shenshan (神山站), Jianggao (江高站), Baiyunhu (白云湖站), and Guangzhou Baiyun (广州白云站). Zhuhai Airport Express adds new shuttle route linking hotels in Hengqin
Zhuhai Airport Express has launched a new shuttle route connecting Zhuhai Jinwan Airport with the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin since January 26, providing direct access between the airport and Hengqin.
