Starting September 6, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway will implement a new operational schedule. For the first time, 6.5 pairs of trains will be extended to Guangzhou North Station, connecting northern Guangzhou with Shenzhen's central districts and providing convenient access to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
From late September, an additional four pairs of trains will be added in the direction of Futian, Shenzhen. With this adjustment, the number of trains running between Guangzhou East, Guangzhou Baiyun, Guangzhou North and Futian will increase from 10 pairs to 14 pairs, boosting capacity by 40%.
To meet passengers' demand for faster travel, three additional pairs of Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity express trains will also be introduced. Following this adjustment, the total number of express services will rise from 11 pairs to 14 pairs.
