The Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport's Kai Tak City Terminal — the sixth terminal operated by the Shenzhen airport in Hong Kong — officially opened last week.

It joins five existing terminals at Kowloon Elements, Yau Tong (East Kowloon), Hong Kong International Airport, Sheung Wan Macao Ferry Pier, and Wan Chai.

The new terminal is located on the B1 level of the Airside shopping mall in Kowloon's core commercial district. A cross‑border bus links the terminal with Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with hourly departures during regular times and every 20 to 40 minutes during peak periods. The service is free for passengers departing on flights from the Shenzhen airport.

Shenzhen's extensive domestic flight network complements Hong Kong's broad international connections, and increasing cross‑border travel has led many Hong Kong residents to choose departures from Shenzhen. According to the airport authority, over 100,000 Hong Kong residents flew from Shenzhen this summer — a year‑on‑year increase of 6.4%.

With the opening of the Kai Tak terminal, daily cross‑border shuttle trips between the Shenzhen airport and Hong Kong now exceed 170.
