China Southern Airlines will operate around 48,000 flights between September 26 and October 10 to meet surging passenger demand during this year's combined National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. The carrier has scheduled more than 2,700 additional services, with domestic routes expected to be driven largely by tourism and family travel.

Demand is forecast to concentrate on routes linking Guangzhou and Shenzhen with Xinjiang, Yunnan, and other western regions. Extra flights will also connect Beijing Daxing with Kashgar, Yining, and Xining, while Urumqi will see expanded services to cities including Shenzhen, Nanjing, and Zhengzhou.

On the international front, the airline has recently launched new services such as Guangzhou-Riyadh, Guangzhou-Wuhan-Moscow, Beijing Daxing-Doha, and Shenzhen-Da Nang. Popular routes to Phuket, Sabah, and Seoul will also see increased frequencies during the holiday period.

To meet demand, China Southern will deploy wide-body aircraft on nearly 2,000 flights across domestic and international hubs, adding capacity on routes to cities including Singapore, Sydney, London, and Moscow. The carrier will also celebrate the holidays with themed in-flight activities, featuring programs for National Day and festive Mid-Autumn designs.
