Guangdong's capital city, Guangzhou, has launched a Morning Tea carnival at Haixinsha Asian Games Theme Park from February 6 to 8, offering international visitors a taste of the iconic morning tea ritual in Cantonese culture.

The event, as part of Guangzhou Morning Tea Promotion Week, brings together the most iconic dishes and dim sum of Cantonese morning tea, providing a rare opportunity for international food lovers to gain a deeper insight into the unique food culture and lifestyle of Guangdong through tasting these representative local treats.
Classic Cantonese morning tea dishes at the event included Cantonese-style steamed dumplings, crispy pastries, roasted dishes, and more, offering a rich variety for visitors to experience the unique charm of Chinese morning tea culture.

The carnival also featured a slew of great perks: classic and Chinese New Year limited dim sum sets were on offer, with exclusive price cuts on premium offerings; tea seat fees could be waived by coupons, and multi-tier discounts and subsidies were available on UnionPay, Meituan, and Douyin apps. Foreign bank cards like Visa and UnionPay were accepted for hassle-free payment, and UnionPay Cloud Flash Pay coupons were claimable for use at top morning tea restaurants, including Taotaoju, which offers discounts as high as 22%.
