Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has launched its first-ever Beauty Festival, turning the busy summer travel season into an opportunity for passengers to enjoy luxury retail and lifestyle experiences while in transit.

Running from August 26 to 30, the event brings together more than 30 shops across Terminals 1 and 2, including Dior, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, and Guerlain. Travelers can sample beauty and skincare products, explore wellness offerings, and enjoy free trials, tastings, and promotional discounts, turning waiting time into a “one-stop” lifestyle experience.

The launch event featured 14 themed pavilions, including interactive tech-led beauty showcases and AI-powered displays, drawing large crowds of passengers looking to combine leisure with shopping before their flights.

This initiative highlights a broader trend in Chinese airports integrating retail with travel, transforming terminals into lifestyle destinations. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has already expanded luxury offerings with new international leading brands. In recent years, it has further diversified by introducing a mix of lifestyle, dining, and tech labels, such as Lululemon, Kajiken (Ramen), and Honor, enriching the commercial landscape to meet travelers’ growing demand for variety and cultural experiences.
