A new secondary school in the "Macau New Neighborhood" community of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin has recently passed its completion inspection and is expected to open for the 2026-2027 academic year, offering 36 classes for around 1,200 students. The project marks the realization of full coverage of basic education within the community.
Construction of the school began on May 27, 2024, and the project passed its final inspection in February 2026. Student registration has opened.
Located on the southern side of Xiaohengqin Mountain and west of the Macau New Neighborhood, the campus covers a site area of about 20,000 square meters, with a total floor area of approximately 29,000 square meters.
The five-story school building features facilities including an outdoor sports field, gymnasium, library, lecture hall, science laboratories, and multifunctional classrooms. Designed to accommodate 36 classes and about 1,200 students, the campus continues the classical European-style architecture and creates a more spacious environment.
Currently, the Macau New Neighborhood has over 4,000 residents and is equipped with a range of livelihood facilities aligned with Macao services, including schools, a health station, an elderly service center, a family community service center, and a 24-hour Macao government self-service center. With the completion of the school, the Macau New Neighborhood provides Macao residents living in Hengqin with high-quality educational services.
