China's first "Academic Integrity Day" event was held in Zhuhai recently, aiming to enhance ethical awareness across the academic publishing community. Initiated by the Society of China University Journals (CUJS), the event designated November 11 as the annual "Academic Integrity Day."

More than 100 representatives from universities, research institutions, publishers, and STM organizations attended the event, which issued a nationwide call for researchers to uphold originality, adhere to academic norms, and help maintain a healthy research environment.
Several thematic discussions addressed issues such as integrity governance in the AI era, international practices, and the handling of publishing ethics cases.
During the event, CUJS's Academic Integrity and Copyright Committee released an initiative on the honest annotation of scientific funding projects in sci-tech journals and announced the first supported projects under the "Academic Integrity and Copyright Special Fund," established to provide ongoing support for studies related to integrity.

CUJS plans to develop the Day into a long-term mechanism through annual events, training sessions, and standard-setting efforts, contributing to the steady improvement of academic publishing practices and the broader research ecosystem.
