The Guangdong women's diving team secured the first gold medal of the diving competition at China's 15th National Games on November 2, delivering a dominant performance on their home turf in Guangzhou.

Held at the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center swimming and diving venue, the team event comprised the women's synchronized 3m springboard, individual 10m platform, individual 3m springboard, and synchronized 10m platform. Guangdong topped all four segments, finishing with a total of 2,369.80 points, well ahead of Sichuan (silver) and Shaanxi (bronze). The team's success was built on consistent excellence: Chen Yiwen and Lin Shan won the synchronized 3m springboard, Wang Weiying took the individual 10m platform, Chen again dominated the individual 3m springboard, and Quan Hongchan, partnering with Wang, closed the night by winning the synchronized 10m platform.

Chen Yiwen, a double gold medalist at the Paris Olympics, praised the team's cohesion. "Everyone performed brilliantly, especially our younger teammates who handled the pressure perfectly," she said after the event. Though new as a synchronized pair, Chen and Lin Shan attributed their success to intensive training and mutual trust. Lin added, "The pressure we feel comes from our sense of responsibility—and it fuels our motivation."

The Games, which run through November 11, will award 14 diving gold medals.
