On the evening of August 10, former Manchester United player and ex-Serbian international Zoran Tosic made his debut for Canton United Football Club in Foshan's "LALIGA" football league. Wearing the No. 7 jersey as a substitute that day, he scored a goal during a penalty shootout.
Now 38 years old, Tosic was selected for the Serbian national team at the age of 20. He participated in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, earning 76 caps and scoring 11 goals for his country. Canton United Football Club stated that he is also the first player in the history of Foshan's "LALIGA" league to have competed in the World Cup finals.
