The Chamber Music Week 2025 is underway at the Xinghai Concert Hall from July 16 to 20, marking a brilliant conclusion to the Xinghai Concert Hall's 2024/2025 performance season. The event features three concerts and six special activities designed to immerse music lovers in the rich and intimate world of chamber music.
The event brings together an exceptional lineup of renowned Chinese and international artists, including flute superstar Emmanuel Pahud, string players from the Berliner Philharmoniker, the acclaimed Shanghai Quartet, guqin player Chen Leiji, and internationally celebrated horn virtuoso Han Xiaoguang.

Notably, several works will make their China premieres, including the guqin and string quartet pieces "Wild Geese Descending on the Sandbank" and "Wind and Snow Over the Ba Bridge Willows" (灞柳风雪), as well as "Homage to Bach" by Berliner Philharmoniker cellist David Riniker.
On July 17, the Chamber Music Week opened with the highly anticipated "Shanghai Quartet & Friends" concert. The Shanghai Quartet collaborated with guqin master Chen Leiji and horn virtuoso Han Xiaoguang to present a diverse program, featuring classic works by Mozart and Beethoven, along with "Wild Geese Descending on the Sandbank" and "Wind and Snow Over the Ba Bridge Willows."
Chen Leiji shared that both pieces were specially commissioned for this concert, achieving an innovative integration of the traditional Chinese guqin and the Western string quartet.
On July 18, Emmanuel Pahud will lead musicians from the Berliner Philharmoniker in the "Berliner Philharmoniker Flute & Strings Quartet" concert. The program will include a selection of Mozart's works and an adapted version of Dvořák's String Quartet "American."

On July 20, the "Special Production: Chamber Virtuosos" concert will be the exclusive Guangzhou stop on the Asian tour of the Berliner Philharmoniker Musicians Quartet. The program includes the premiere of "Homage to Bach," with the Shanghai Quartet collaborating with principal players of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra for a string octet, featuring 12 musicians taking turns to perform in various combinations.
In addition, the Chamber Music Week features six special activities, including masterclasses by the Shanghai Quartet and a sharing session with Berliner Philharmoniker musicians, fostering rich, multidimensional musical dialogue.
