After days of torrential downpours, Guangdong is expected to see the rains taper off by August 7. Residents should brace for steamy, sauna-like conditions to return.
As of late August 5, heavy rainfall continued across most of the province. From the night of August 5 to 6, the rain belt will shift northward, easing along the southern coast while intensifying over central and northern Guangdong.
By August 7, as the cold vortex pulls away, this round of heavy rain will officially come to an end. From August 8, skies will clear across much of the province, though brief afternoon thunderstorms may still occur.
As the rain subsides, temperatures will rise sharply. High humidity will persist, leaving much of Guangdong facing hot and muggy conditions.
