The 3rd Songshan Lake Mathematics Forum, organized by the Great Bay Area University, is set to take place on July 19 at the Songshan Lake campus in Dongguan. This year's forum, themed "Mathematics as the Foundation, Intelligence Creating the Future," will focus on the innovative applications and deep integration of mathematics in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
Initiated by academician Tian Gang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the founding director of the Great Bay Area University, the forum will be led by internationally renowned mathematician and astronomer Xia Zhihong, who is also a chair professor and vice president of the Great Bay Area Academy of Advanced Studies.
The forum will bring together leading experts, including academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, members of the European Academy of Sciences, and foreign academicians from the Royal Academy of Engineering, to deliver keynote speeches.
Currently, Songshan Lake is committed to a development philosophy centered on "green, intelligent, human-centered, and sustainable" principles. It is working towards constructing a modern industrial system, with R&D investment intensity reaching 13.3% and over 770 high-tech enterprises established. There is an urgent need for technology transfer and accelerated industrial transformation, which raises the bar for "Mathematics +".
From July 20 to 22, the Great Bay Area University will also host a specialized conference on "AI and Dynamic Systems," further promoting the deep integration of artificial intelligence with fundamental disciplines and fostering collaborative innovation in technology across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
