Guangzhou Development New Energy Group Co., Ltd. launched the "Guangzhou Charging Network and Unified Service Platform" on July 21 in Liwan District, signing cooperation agreements with leading operators including TELD, Star Charge, HuiChong, XPeng Charging, and Weijingyun.
The platform tackles long-standing challenges such as information silos and payment barriers caused by fragmented charging services. Many users have reported frustration with needing to use multiple apps, make separate payments, and locate available chargers. By integrating fast and slow public charging resources from major city operators, the platform provides a unified entry point for charger search, navigation, and payment—greatly enhancing the overall charging experience.
To address the shortage of charging facilities in residential areas—especially in older communities—the platform introduces a "one-click application" feature to simplify the process of installing personal chargers. This function makes it easier for residents to apply for and manage private charging points within their compounds.
In addition, the platform launches a pioneering "fee-based private charger sharing" model. Under this system, privately-owned chargers can be made available to other users during idle hours—provided safety, regulatory compliance, and necessary approvals are in place. Charger owners can earn a reasonable income, while the community benefits from improved access to charging infrastructure. The initiative aims to optimize local resources and relieve pressure on public charging stations. Guangzhou's planning and legislation explicitly encourage the construction of residential charging facilities.
Safety remains a top priority. The platform features an intelligent monitoring system that provides real-time surveillance and early warnings for all connected chargers. It can quickly detect potential hazards such as abnormal voltage, overheating, or equipment malfunctions, enabling prompt intervention and ensuring safe charging operations.
