The mosquito-borne disease risk level across Guangzhou has been rated as medium, according to the latest mosquito vector monitoring map released by the Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on July 31.
During city-wide surveillance covering 120 subdistricts and towns in the fourth week of July, the following areas were identified as high-risk zones: Beijing Subdistrict (北京街道), Jingtai Subdistrict (景泰街道), Guangta Subdistrict (光塔街道), Dengfeng Subdistrict (登峰街道), Dashi Subdistrict (大石街道), Qiaonan Subdistrict (桥南街道), Nangang Subdistrict (南岗街道), and Shilou Town (石楼镇).

As of July 30, the following areas in Guangzhou are implementing measures to contain mosquito-borne disease outbreaks. Please take precautions to reduce mosquito populations.
The Guangzhou CDC urges residents living, working, or engaging in activities in the above-mentioned areas to strengthen personal mosquito prevention measures. When going out, wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants or apply mosquito repellent.
At home, use mosquito repellent products such as mosquito coils, electric mosquito swatters, and insecticides; install screens on doors and windows. Regularly inspect and empty water-holding containers; cover or overturn them to prevent mosquito breeding.
Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms such as fever, rash, or severe joint or muscle pain occur. Inform healthcare providers of your residence in a controlled zone and cooperate with relevant testing.
