Foshan activates Level Ⅲ public health emergency response over chikungunya

On July 29, the Foshan Municipal People's Government announced the activation of a Level Ⅲ public health emergency response in accordance with public health emergency protocols and the current situation regarding chikungunya fever.

Public health emergencies are graded in the National Contingency Plan for Public Health Emergencies. Based on their nature, extent, and range of impacts, public health emergencies are classified into four levels: extremely serious (Ⅰ), serious (Ⅱ), major (Ⅲ), and ordinary (Ⅳ).
