On July 11, a "Maoming Guanggang-Wuzhou" bulk-to-container train loaded with 40 standard containers made its inaugural run from Maoming Guanggang Wharf, marking the official operation of a new logistics corridor linking bulk cargo transportation between western Guangdong and eastern Guangxi.

The "Maoming Guanggang-Wuzhou" bulk-to-container train carried Indonesian ferronickel worth 12 million yuan. After arriving at the Wuzhou hub in Guangxi from Maoming Guanggang, the cargo will be distributed to nearby metallurgical enterprises. Compared with traditional transportation models, this model reduces costs by over 15% and improves transportation efficiency by nearly 20%.
At the inaugural run ceremony, cooperating parties stated that they will build a high-quality multimodal transport corridor connecting southwest China (including Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan) and construct a green and efficient logistics network linking the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with inland regions of southwest China.
Maoming Port, a first-class national open port and a regional key port, boasts a superior geographical location. Among its facilities, Maoming Guanggang Terminal, a joint project of Guangzhou Port Group and Maoming Port Group, is Maoming's first 100,000-ton deep-water port. Facing the South China Sea and connecting to the Greater Bay Area, it enables maritime shipping to reach Southeast Asia and beyond.
Earlier this year, the Maoming Port Railway Spur Line was put into operation, allowing the wharf to seamlessly connect via the Maoming Bohe Port Railway, Luoyang-Zhanjiang Railway, and Guangzhou-Maoming Railway to the national railway network, extending to regions such as Guangxi, Guizhou, and Hunan.
