Maoming Xinyi's bamboo banquet: a summer culinary adventure

This July, Maoming's Xinyi unveils its upgraded bamboo-themed feast featuring over 20 innovative dishes. From soups to main courses, each creation highlights bamboo's natural fragrance, making it this summer's must-try culinary experience.

At Ma'an Bamboo Sea Scenic Area (马安竹海景区), Zhang Wen, owner of the newly opened "Bamboo Grove Cottage," prepares authentic bamboo-tube dishes using traditional methods. Fresh bamboo tubes are filled with ingredients and charcoal-roasted, releasing an irresistible aroma of bamboo, rice, and meat when opened. "This taste brings back childhood memories," says Mrs Zhang, a Hong Kong resident visiting for summer vacation.

The city's upgraded "Bamboo Banquet" introduces over 20 new dishes starring bamboo shoots and bamboo fungus. These creations showcase bamboo's crisp, fragrant, and light texture through creative meat-and-vegetable combinations that delight the palate.

This unique dining experience blends heritage cooking techniques with seasonal flavors, offering visitors a taste of Xinyi's natural bounty and cultural charm during the summer months.
