Guangzhou launches WeChat mini-program for 15th National Games

A new WeChat mini-program, "National Games Guangzhou(全运广州)," was officially launched on July 29 to streamline services for the upcoming 15th National Games and Paralympic Games. This platform combines navigation services and event information in one place using smart technologies like instant translation and camera-guided directions.

The Event Services section serves as a comprehensive information center. It includes sections such as "Past Games Highlights," "Venue Details," "Match Timetables," "Latest News," and "Getting to Venues." This hub consolidates live updates about competitions, locations, staff information, and support services. Visitors can check schedules, navigate venues, and plan trips with confidence.

For City Services, the mini-program provides assistance with meals, hotels, transport, and sightseeing. Key features include special assistance services with bookable accessible transport and detailed venue accessibility maps. A sign-language video service connects users with interpreters in real time. The "City Map" displays parking spots, charging points, and public toilets, while the transport section manages bookings for buses, metro, taxis, and self-driving cars. The "Discover Guangzhou" recommends top restaurants, attractions, and hotels, suggesting pre-made routes such as historical tours paired with nearby dining options. Limited-edition souvenirs featuring event mascots and local designs are also available.

Interactive features include the "Green Forest" game, which rewards everyday eco-friendly actions like walking more (using phone step counts), answering sustainability quizzes, and engaging in recycling challenges. Users earn credits for virtual gardening that unlock merchandise discounts. The "Games Postcards" tool allows people to create custom digital postcards by combining their photos with Games locations and cultural landmarks.
