On July 15, in the final of the Women's Elite Group 2000m event at the 17th World Dragon Boat Championships, the Jiujiang Shuangzheng Women's Dragon Boat Team from Foshan City, representing China, clinched the championship with a time of 10 minutes 01.643 seconds. This marks the first time that the Jiujiang team has won this event at the World Championships.

The current tournament is being held in Germany from July 14 to 20, attracting top teams from over 30 countries and regions, including China, the United States, Russia, and France. As the highest-level international dragon boat event hosted by the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF), the World Dragon Boat Championships represent the pinnacle of competitive dragon boat racing in the world.
"Since April, we've been training intensively," said Zhu Wenquan, the team leader of the Jiujiang Dragon Boat Club. The team followed a rigorous schedule—twice daily on weekdays and full days on weekends—combining scientific physical training and coordination to achieve outstanding endurance in the 2000m race.
As the first "Famous Chinese Dragon Boat Town," Jiujiang Town has a rich dragon boat cultural heritage. Its dragon boat teams have represented China in numerous international competitions and achieved excellent results. Next, the Jiujiang Dragon Boat Team will also participate in the 200m and 500m women's and mixed events, scheduled for July 17 and 20.
