On 27 July, more than 40 youth leaders from across Europe joined their peers from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) in Hengqin for a dialogue on peace, technology, and future cooperation. The gathering took place on the eve of the World Youth Peace Conference.

Hosted at the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, the event was organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and China International Communications Group.

Discussions focused on strengthening global partnerships in science and technology. Eleven young entrepreneurs, including Jesús Caicedo, CEO of the Spanish tech firm Airtrace, shared insights into the challenges and opportunities facing innovation-driven enterprises.

Hengqin, which has become a focal point for Macao’s economic diversification, is positioning itself as a hub for international cooperation. Organizers stated that the event highlighted Hengqin’s role as a bridge for international youth exchange, with a special invitation for European talent to contribute to shaping these emerging platforms.
