Foshan's Shunde dragon boat wins China's first-ever 1000m Gold at World Championships

The Shunde Lecong Louvre Dragon Boat Team from Foshan, China, secured a gold medal in the premier open's 1000-meter straight race at the 17th World Dragon Boat Race Championships on July 17.

This landmark achievement not only marks China's first-ever World Championship title in the men's 1000m discipline but also represents China's historic "gold-zero breakthrough" in premier dragon boat racing.

The victory further enhances the legacy of Shunde Lecong Louvre - affectionately dubbed China's "small national team." According to official records from the International Dragon Boat Federation and the Chinese Dragon Boat Association, this Guangdong-based team had secured 486 international and national golds prior to this championship.
